RAWEC’s Executive Managing Director, Francis Gomez, Sr. Technical Advisor, Asset and Business Support Managers attended ACWA Power’s two day knowledge exchange workshop in Jeddah on October 11 – 12, 2017. The purpose of the workshop was to bring the different businesses of ACWA Power in Saudi Arabia together and identify opportunities for supporting and learning from each other operational, technical, commercial, regulatory and legal issues.
ACWA Power Vice President for Saudi Arabia portfolio management, Mahmoud Al -Theeb, welcomed all the participants and gave an overview of ACWA Power portfolio growth and business progress in the different parts of the world. Participants then shared their success stories and lessons learned.
After presenting the O&M performance of the business, RAWEC shared the lessons learned from early PCOD and issues related to plant reliability and environmental issues with the workshop participants. All the participants appreciated the way RAWEC management resolved issues with FGD, Air Preheater and RO pumps.
ACWA Power Technical Support, Environment and Commercial and Legal groups presented key functions of their respective areas and offered their services to all the businesses.
At the end, VP KSA Mr. Mahmoud summarized the event and emphasized the need of establishing a strong link among project and O&M companies of ACWA Power and NOMAC to co-operate with each other and proposed forming a common pool of critical items to share among the businesses when required.
